Matheson set out on a design that brews better coffee. The Coffee Pour-Over Set brings together form and function in a smooth harmony. Every element—the angle of the dripper, the thickness of the ceramic, and the shape of the carafe—has been considered to enhance both the brewing experience and the final cup.
This set includes three stackable ceramic components: a matte pot base stamped with the Matheson monogram, a high-gloss ribbed dripper that holds a #4 cone filter, and a matte flat-top piece to complete the design. Each part is thoughtfully made to create a pour-over ritual that’s as rewarding as the coffee itself.
To care for and clean your Matheson Stackable Pour-Over Coffee Pot, wash all parts with warm water and mild dish soap, avoiding abrasive scrubbers as they may scratch the ceramic. Rinse throughly, making sure you remove all soap residue and let air dry completely before re-filling. Find more care tips here.

Questions?
How do I clean my Pour-Over Coffee Pot?
For best results, rinse immediately after use with warm water to remove coffee oils and residue. If a hand wash is needed use a mild dish soap and soft sponge or cloth Don’t use abrasive pads—they can dull or scratch the ceramic glaze. Rinse thoroughly, making sure all soap is gone to avoid any soapy flavor in your next brew. Air-dry or towel dry with a clean cloth. If you see white chalky spots (hard water buildup) let all parts soak in a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio) for 15–20 minutes. Rinse very well afterward and dry completely.
How much coffee and water should I use?
The classic golden ratio is 1:16. (1 gram of coffee per 16 grams (or ml) of water). For one 12 oz (355 ml) cup, use 21–23 grams of coffee (about 3–4 tablespoons) If you don’t have a scale, use 1 rounded tablespoon per 5 oz of water. Adjust to taste! More coffee = stronger brew. Less = milder.
What grind size is best for pour-over?
We like medium to medium-fine—like coarse sand or sea salt. Why does the coffee bean grind size matter? Too fine = over-extracted, bitter, and slow brew. Too coarse = under-extracted, watery, sour. If you’re using a burr grinder (ideal!), look for a setting in the middle range.
Do I need a filter? What kind is best?
Yes! You need a #4 cone filter for the Matheson Pour-Over, we recommend a Hario V60 filter. For best results, pre-wet you paper filter before brewing. This will warm up your dripper and carafe and helps the coffee drip through more evenly. To do this step, place the paper filter in the top part of the Pour-Over and place over the sink or bottom carafe. Pour hot water through it, enough to soak the whole filter. Dump the rinse water from the carafe before brewing.
What’s the ideal water temperature for pour-over?
We like our coffee at 195°F – 205°F (90–96°C) If you don’t have a thermometer, bring water to a boil, then let it sit for 30–45 seconds. Too hot? You’ll over-extract and get bitter flavours. Too cool? You’ll under-extract and the coffee might taste weak or sour.
