Cutting Board Care Instructions
Prep work is part of every meal you make, so it is critical that the kitchen items you will use daily are well-made. We designed our cutting board with this in mind.
Our beech cutting board has two faces, each intended for different tasks. The top is your daily working side. It has a trough to collect juices and keep the cutting area clean. The reverse side has bowls milled into its face for entertaining and for presentation.
We hope you enjoy using your cutting board and putting it through its paces. We have worked with Walrus Oil to include a 2oz bottle of cutting board oil along with these care tips to help you preserve the condition of your board and keep it safe for food preparation.
Oiling: Pour a small amount of oil onto the board. With a rag or by hand, begin working it into the wood until all surfaces are covered. Apply more oil as needed. Stand the board on end to air-dry. Buff off any excess residue.
Washing & Drying: After using your cutting board, wash your cutting board with soap and warm water and scrub well. Towel-dry and stand the board on its side to dry. Do not submerge the board in water or clean in a dishwasher. This can warp or splinter the wood over time.
Repair: If your board has stains or smells, you can use lemon juice or white vinegar directly on the area. Avoid using bleach, as it can stain or dry out the wood.
