Trivet Care

Trivet Care

Function, durability, and a form that earns its place at the centre of your table. We designed the Matheson Trivet with this in mind.

First Use

Your Matheson Trivet is ready to use right out of the box. To remove any packaging residue or dust, simply rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly before first use. No seasoning is required as it features a durable enamel finish.

Usage

The Trivet is designed to withstand high heat and protect your surfaces from hot cookware. Use it on your countertop, dining table, or stovetop to hold hot pans, Dutch ovens, or bakeware directly from the oven or stovetop.

While the Trivet is heat-resistant, avoid dragging it across delicate surfaces to prevent potential scratching. Do not place it inside a microwave oven or use it as a cooking implement directly over flame or heat sources.

Finish and Maintenance

The trivet is coated with a matte black enamel finish to prevent rust and eliminate the need for seasoning. While it won’t develop a patina like a cooking pan, the enamel may age gracefully over time with normal use.

To preserve the enamel coating, avoid exposure to open flames, and do not use the trivet for cooking or as a skillet lid.

Washing

After use, let the Trivet cool before cleaning. Wash by hand using warm water and mild dish soap. A soft sponge or nylon scrubber is best for cleaning the surface.

Avoid abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners, which can dull or damage the enamel coating. Do not use a dishwasher.

Drying

Towel dry or air dry the Trivet thoroughly after washing to prevent moisture buildup and potential rust at the edges. Always store the trivet in a dry area.
